Hi there everyone!
It’s Trystan here! I’m back with another *drum roll* awesome *drum roll* spectacular*drum roll* QUOTE OF THE WEEK! YAAAAY!
This week we are diving into the ancient and sage wisdom of Chinese Proverbs:
Chinese Proverbs have been around for over 4,000 years. There is an abundance of Chinese Proverbs for almost any situation and circumstance you can think of. The wisdom that Chinese Proverbs hold helps one to respond to any situation in a calm and balanced way that serves the Highest Good of each individual. This ties into the equation that we have discussed in class, E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome). Whatever the event may be, you have the power to respond in any way. You can choose to respond in a high vibrational way that serves you and your Highest Good. One powerful tool that can help you is Chinese Proverbs!
Now diving into the quote: personally, I have noticed that there are people in my life that respond to many situations in a frenzied, frantic sort-of-state; fear of not getting this and that done on time, fear of not making the grade, fear of not being good enough for judges, for Professors, for friends, etc. I almost feel like people choose this because they believe that this sort-of frenzied state is exactly where they need to be in order to get enough “stamina” and “strength” to do what they do “best”.
So using the Law of Reflection, I began to notice more how I AM choosing to react in a frenzied state to tasks that I do, whether it be subconsciously or consciously. I began to noticed I would think of EVERYTHING I needed to do, whether it be homework, work, hanging out with friends, planning events, etc. and I would get overwhelmed. Then I would start the “doing” and I would feel disconnected, unfocused, dizzy, cloudy, anxious. I felt off. So I took a step back, closed my eyes, and reconnected with myself.
I asked myself, is this what I want? Is this who I truly am? Or is this who I think I should be? Why am I choosing this? Am I choosing to react this way because people in my life are reacting this way? Some uneasy feelings did come up. I used my breath to anchor myself, to remind myself of who I truly am. At that moment, I consciously decided to let it go. I let the need to react in a frenzied way go. I began to choose the Truth, my Truth. I started to choose to be happy, to be calm, to be peaceful, to be love, to love myself.
Now I am getting better and better at responding to any event that occurs in my life with love, peace, and appreciation. Focusing on what I want in each specific moment has been crucial for me to stay clear-minded and peaceful. Another decision I made is to trust myself and the Universe. I trust that as long as I stay focused on what it is I desire, and really get into the feeling of it, more of it comes my way (Law of Attraction). It’s funny too because the more I let go, and the more peace and love I choose to respond with, the more peace and love I get back. Now all of these tasks seem to simply work themselves out as I continue to simply show up with ease, peace, and grace.
On behalf of Professor Sheppard and I, create a peaceful and fulfilling weekend full of fun and love. Take time for yourself.
Also, a friendly reminder that Capstone Proposals are due in-class next week (November 8th, 2017 Week 6)
